May 2002 founded with Infineon Technologies AG, DuPont Photomasks, Inc. (later Toppan Photomasks, Inc.) and AMD Purpose of foundation: Production of optical photomasks, pilot line
June 2002 Groundbreaking
April 2003 Ready for Equipment
October 2003 First Mask Out
Beginning 2004 Start of Pilot Production
End 2005 Fully ramped
January 2008 Change in corporate structure, share transfer from Infineon Technologies AG to Qimonda AG
2009 Exclusion of Qimonda AG from the partnership, AMD and Toppan Photomasks, Inc. remain shareholders
April 2012 - transfer of AMD's shares to GLOBALFOUNDRIES
- Partial transfer of production from Toppan Germany to AMTC
- Founding purpose: Development & production of optical photomasks
