What our employees say

EMPLOYEE STORIES

What does it mean for our employees to work in one of the largest and most advanced photomask centres in Europe? In our employee stories category, we ask this question. From shift workers to engineers and student, they all share their impressions. Our people are the heart of the company and tell us what drives them.

"You can expect to meet me in the clean room, in the office or in the sub-fab. I actively work with people on improving processes and enjoy playing in the Champions League of mask makers. Anything else would be boring for me. In my free time, I can be usually found in my garden or out and about with friends."

Angela Warmschmidt

Shiftleader Production, at AMTC since 2011

"I have been part of the AMTC team since 2007, initially in the Litho area and later in Integration. Even then, I was impressed by how quickly new employees are integrated and can take on their own responsibilities. Nothing has changed in that regard to this day. I enjoy organizing company events as part of the Event Team.

It promotes the family atmosphere that everyone here really appreciates. There are many opportunities to develop across departments and become a real "maskmaker". The numerous working time models, including the option of mobile working, promote the compatibility of career and family. The area around Dresden is an excellent spot for cycling. I enjoy taking a refreshing bath in the “Talsperre Malter” during my road bike ride - it's like a little vacation."

Stefan Meusemann

Member of Technical Staff, at AMTC since 2007

"The AMTC is anything but boring. I have been very lucky to be able to prove myself in 3 different positions during the last 12 years. Starting in the management office as an assistant to the management, through purchasing, to my current position as Team Lead for Materials & Logistics. What makes all areas so exciting is the wide range of tasks. The team sizes are manageable, which makes the tasks very varied and extensive. This diversity and the new responsibility for my own area, as well as the collegial environment, motivate me every day anew."

Daniela Riese

Team Lead Supply Chain, Logistics & Trade Compliance, at AMTC since 2011

"Why the AMTC? There are certainly many reasons. The most tangible one for me is the family-like working atmosphere with very high-quality standards on site. When the doors of the management are open (they are very rarely closed), every employee can just walk in. All employees at the site are called by their first name. Ideas are also discussed with the management at eye level and implemented if possible. And that's what I want from my employer!"

Robert Gottschalk

Manufacturing Technician, Production, at AMTC since 2016

"I joined AMTC in 2016 as a process engineer in a development group. This has been one of the best decisions of my career so far. My days are characterized by fulfilling activities in a pleasant working atmosphere. The opportunities to get involved are diverse and there is a lot of creative freedom to realize projects and ideas. AMTC also offers me excellent opportunities for personal and professional development, as I became responsible for our coat, bake and develop processes as Team Lead Engineering in 2022.

The family/work balance is world class. My family and I are happy to have taken the step to Dresden. The city is very liveable and the surrounding area invites for wonderful excursions, e.g. to nearby Saxon Switzerland. I can highly recommend AMTC to anyone who is interested!"

André Eilert

Team Lead Engineering, at AMTC since 2016

"Advanced IT for Advanced Masks - the philosophy of our strong IT team, which, in addition to standard office operations, provides all processes from data preparation to production with IT infrastructure and software automation solutions for 24/7 operations at the AMTC. Personally, I always find it very exciting and at the same time refreshing to design and implement IT solutions for the constantly evolving requirements with committed and very creative colleagues. Teamwork, short lines of communication and quick decisions, high quality and, last but not least, fun make working at AMTC much more than just a job."

René Grabner

Manager Information Technology, at AMTC since 2019

"The challenges as a process engineer at the AMTC are shaped by the high demands in a global semiconductor market and have definitely not become any less in the 11 years that I have been working in the back end of line at the AMTC. I find this very motivating for my work, as you always learn something new and enter new territory in terms of work content.

Furthermore, I appreciate the very pleasant and constructive interaction between colleagues across all areas - these are the best prerequisites for well-functioning teamwork. The possibility of mobile working gives me a lot of flexibility in my work organization and compatibility between career and family, which rounds off the AMTC overall package. In short: great!"

Philipp Siebeneicher

„I am a Supply Chain, Logistics & Trade Compliance Analyst at AMTC since 2018 and deal with all topics related to customs and export control. As these topics affect almost all departments, I have the opportunity to gain insights into many specialist areas. This makes my field of work very exciting and interesting. If you like to get involved and shape things, AMTC is the right place for you.

All colleagues are highly qualified and work towards the common goal of continuing to operate as a global leader in the semiconductor business. Expedient ideas and solutions are discussed and implemented across all departments. Thereby, a very collegial interaction prevails. In addition, AMTC offers flexible working hours and the possibility of mobile working, which greatly supports the compatibility of family and work.”

Grit Kunath

Supply Chain, Logistics & Trade Compliance Analyst, at AMTC since 2018

“After my PhD in Chemistry I started working at the AMTC as Metrology Engineer. The semi-conductor business was completely new to me and very instructive. Now I have a broad knowledge in my department, and I enjoy to make things work and find solutions to the ever changing demands of our customers. The AMTC combines the advantages of a small to mid-size enterprise and an international company. The work life balance on the one hand and the technical challenges on the other create an engaging work atmosphere.”

Annemarie Benedikt
